Onions Australia offers a special award to recognise people who have made outstanding contributions to the Australian Onion Industry. The award is named for Reg Miller, a South Australian who helped found what is now known as Onions Australia.
He worked on the family farm for some 20 years, served with the Australian Infantry in Darwin during WWII, and throughout his life did committee work with grower associations such as Onions Australia.
Nominations for the Reg Miller Award are accepted annually until 1st August, and a recipient is announced at an award dinner held the evening prior to the Annual Levy Payers Meeting in November.
2009 recipient will be announced at a dinner being held on Sunday November 8th in Murray Bridge.
