What is OnionSTAT?

OnionSTAT is an information collection and management system that has been customized for the Australian onion industry. The focus of OnionSTAT is on the collection of monthly planting, forecast and production data from grower/ packers in the major production regions.

Grower/ packers are requested to provide their data via fax, email or telephone to the office on a twice yearly basis. This data will then be aggregated and a six monthly  industry report showing the plantings, forecasts and production and types of onions is produced for use by those that are contributing. It is important to have as many grower/ packers contributing data as possible so that the figures reflect what is happening in the market as accurately as possible.

Joining & Contributing

Over many years the onion industry and its members/levy payers have been attempting to collect accurate statistic.

We have had a fax/telephone system works best for our grower/packers.  We have recently developed a new desk top system.

We now remind all contributors via email first, then via fax.
