Plant Health Australia (PHA) is the national coordinator of the government-industry partnership for plant biosecurity in Australia.
Onions Australia is a member of PHA and is a signatory to the Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed.

Strategic Agrichemical Review Process (SARP)
The Strategic Agrichemical Review Process, or SARP, has the following roles in which to support the onion industry:
- Evaluate the importance of diseases, insects, weeds and plant pests that can affect the onion industry
- Assess the availability and value of fungicides, insecticides, herbicides/pesticides to control plant pests
- Determine any breaches in the pest control strategy and identifies new or alternative pesticides to address the issue
